Chronology of cameras Carpentier J-B

This square room 13 x 18 is a product of Fabrique d'ébénisterie J.B Carpentier, located at 16 bis rue Gasparin in Lyon.

It benefits from a very meticulous finish, made of waxed walnut. The joints are made using dovetailing.

The back plate moves on toothed rails. The front face pivots, allowing by sliding the lens plate, to have horizontal or vertical decentering depending on the position of the front face.

The Thornton-Pickard shutter allows for exposure and instant shooting from 1/15 to 1/80. The lens is a Berthiot No. 3.
